Awards and achievements are Damage Inc's way of recognizing various accomplishments by our members. These are displayed under a members posts and in their profile.
The biggest, but not only, difference between awards and achievements are the fact that awards are discretionary, where as achievements are generally for meeting specific goals that unlocks the achievement. Awards are shown under people's post counts on posts, whereas achievements are listed in their signature.
You can view all the Awards & Achievements here: https://forum.dmginc.gg/awards/
Officers are responsible for issuing awards based on discretionary circumstances. They have a designated award authority depending on their rank.
Achievements on the other hand are issued by the Vetus Praesidio and must be applied for by the member requesting the achievement. You can apply for an achievement here.
Officers use the following guideline when issuing a discretionary award:
Aim to have What, When, Where & Outcome in your awards when you issue them, like this example:
So it reads something like:
"Awarded to Bob for his exceptional skill in helping Trident Black win Valhalla League CSGO - EU in September 2019. As the last player left in the final/deciding match round of Trident Black vs Dagger Black, he managed to wipe the opposing team by himself and defuse the bomb despite the pressure and odds being against him."
Do not use generic statements like:
Incorrect Awards risk being revoked, and therefore care must be taken to not give too little detail.
Awards are capped at each Level to avoid inflation of Awards or Awards losing their meaning.
Award Authority:
Officers are not authorized to issue double awards, for example:
The First Nine consists of the nine longest serving members in DI.
First Nine can be lost in the following ways:
When a member of the current First Nine leaves, the ring will pass to the next member with the longest continuous serving record (cannot have left DI, then rejoin and have that absent period counted).
Any former First 9 holder that was removed for Failing to achieve the minimum activity requirements can request to have their Cohort reset through a VP ticket.
Their Cohort will be set to the next Cohort due to start and they will then be able to earn the First Nine Artifact again.
Their rank will not be changed to Initiate and they are not required to pass the Cohort.
