¶ How do I get and keep an EHL?
In order to receive an EHL, you will need to attend an Event Hosting class, located on the Staff Training Calendar. You will only receive credit if you attend the full hour!
If you wish to host these Event Hosting classes, please feel free to message the Head of Training or the Vice of Training, and they will work with you to get a trial class set up!
There are no hosting requirements for keeping an EHL.
In order to keep an EHL active, you must avoid making consistent mistakes that would result in VP removing your EHL.
You can lose your Event Host License through:
- VP Decision
- If you are making consistent mistakes, VP can revoke your EHL. But don't worry, if you pay attention in the Event Hosting class, you will know enough to not make mistakes!
Examples of mistakes that can result in strikes are:
- Event Hosts not showing for their event (no-show) will result in a Negligence strike.
- Late / early starting the EMT will result in a verbal warning for first instance and Negligence strike for any further instances.
- Failing to make a REP Request within 12 hours of the event ending (if required) will result in a verbal warning for first instance and Negligence strike for any further instances.
- Any Other preventable mistakes made by the event host will result in a verbal warning for first instance and Negligence strike for any further instances.
- Abuse of EHL perms, for example moving people without permission could result in a Public Nuisance strike or be escalated as high as an Unprofessional Conduct strike depending on the severity of the actions taken by the host.
New EHL recipients will get a grace period of 1 month. During this time, any event hosting mistakes (except no-showing) will only be dealt with a verbal warning. Failing to show up to an event as the Event Host will still result in a Negligence strike.
