As part of their duties officers of the Order of Vetus Praesidio (VP) handle conflict between Members of the DI server. This may be conflict in open channels, events or in DM's that are reported to VP. In most cases this can be de-escalated by the VP officer having a discussion with everyone involved and explaining to each the other persons view. Regularly conflict is just a misunderstanding between the people. However, there are times when further action is required. In these cases a request can be made to VP for either an Event Host Ban or a No Contact Order.
An Event Host Ban is where a host requests that a Member is banned from attending any event they host.
It does not stop the two parties from attending other events together or being in Discord channels together.
- Open a VP ticket through the VP ticket system in Discord, providing details of who you want banned from your events and why.
- The next available VP Officer will respond to the ticket and carry out a review.
- In the majority of cases the ban will be accepted. There would be very rare cases where exceptions may need to be added.
- If the VP Officer accepts the ban they will contact the Member in question to notify them of the Event Ban.
- VP will make a record of the ban and track it in case there are any reported breaches in the future.
- An Officer in the current Imperium cohort would be allowed to attend any classes hosted by the person requesting the ban.
- A staff member under the chain of command of the requester would be allowed to attend any meetings open to their position.
- If the ban is breached you can report it to VP through the VP ticket system in Discord.
- Breaching an Event Host ban will result in a Failing to comply with orders strike.
- Repeated breaches will result in an Inciting Unrest strike.
A No Contact Order is where a situation has escalate so much that any contact between two parties is likely to result in conflict.
In order to ensure a safe and inclusive atmosphere for all members both parties are ordered to cease all contact.
This includes initiating or participating in any form of communication, interaction, or engagement whether in DM's or through DI's platforms, including but not limited to events, voice channels, chats, and any other shared spaces within our community.
- Open a VP ticket through the VP ticket system in Discord, providing details of who you want a No Contact Order with and why.
- The next available VP Officer will respond to the ticket and carry out a review.
- A No Contact Order is only issued in the most severe cases that cannot be resolved by other means. This is because it is better to attempt all other means before resulting to this option.
- If the VP Officer accepts the No Contact Order they will message both parties and get them to acknowledge the formal No Contact Order.
- VP will make a record of the No Contact Order and track it in case there are any reported breaches in the future.
- If both parties are within the same CoC VP will contact someone higher in their CoC to ensure no contact is required between them, even if this requires moving one of the parties to another Division or House.
- If either party is an Officer within an Order, the Order Leader will be contacted to ensure this Officer does not deal with any content related to the other party.
- If both parties are in Leadership they may both be involved in Leadership discussions together and attend Leadership meetings together. They should limit interactions in these circumstances and conflict will result in disciplinary action.
- If the No Contact Order is breached you can report it to VP through the VP ticket system in Discord.
- Breaching a No Contact Order will result in a Failing to comply with orders strike.
- Repeated breaches will result in an Inciting Unrest strike.
